Last version of MicroStation available for UNIX, DOS and Windows was
MicroStation95
That version had an academic clone for Linux.
Newer versions, MicroStation SE and MicroStation/J are available for Windows
only :(
All that versions basic support for export RIB (RenderMan only) geometry,
and if an material is assigned color and opacity too. So it is quit hard to
locate elements in RIB file and assign shaders.
In upcoming version MicroStation V8 support of RIB export is marked as
OBSOLETE.

Rendering extra pixels

Could someone please tell me how I can render extra pixels around the
boarders of my image using mtor. I’m rendering a matt painting which
they want to do a 2D pan on after the 3D track ends. My problem is
that I can’t get the scale attribute of the rendering camera to pass
through mtor.

Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Marcus.

Two shaders on one object

Is it possible to use more than one shader on an object?  If so, is it
possible for the second shader to know what color the first shader
generated for the current location in the second shader?

Thanks

God…or who you may call Allah.
Do you not believe that He is in control?

(Sorry for the OT, folks.)

Simon, did I miss an anouncement about Rendermania?

What happened to Rendermania? I haven’t been able to access it for some
time now.

invalid ri.h file in "Renderman Interface Specification"

I’ve tried to use ri.h file from Appendix C of "Renderman Interface
specification" v3.2. However, this file has syntax errors (not to
mention it is not easy to extract it from PDF format). So: where to
find valid version of this file?

Thanks.

slim question/problem

i started evaluating maya/mtor yesterday and i ran
in some problems. i`m trying to texture our character
the same way we did it in softimage/softman….
problem is (or isn`t ;->) that mtor doesn`t seem to
have a type of texture collector. the head of the
character uses several layered / different placed
textures (which could be done with coordsys of course)
but i want to put all textures into one color connection
of the "skin" shader.

one solution would be using constant shaders..applying
textures there, and using a layer node to combine them.
(sounds a bit complicated and stupid IMHO).

Is there a good/fast solution for this problem?

thanks
